PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4.1 is released

Year begins with a new release of PostX Gnu/Linux.

The 0.4 release notes still mostly apply. So, if in any doubt go here.

January 3rd 2017 edit: I had written echi=off to the 0.4 original release notes, which is wrong. It should be edd=off. Edd stands for Enhanced disk drive. Apologies for the mistake. Use edd=off in the case that the boot to live-environment hangs and does not continue. Now, the entry should also be correct within the original release notes.

PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4 release notes updated

I have added some clarifications and also some needed information to PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4 release notes regarding partitioning and  dual booting and UEFI issues (Windows 8 and 10). You can find the revised version of the release notes from the same place as before: http://www.techtimejourney.net/postx-gnulinux-0-4-arrives-32-bit-and-64-bit/

PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4 arrives (32-bit and 64-bit)

PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4 has arrived as 32-bit and 64-bit releases. If you are using the older PostX 0.3 release I will recommend that you do a fresh install to 0.4. Changes made are quite considerable when it comes to optimizations and general stability. 32 bit image size is about:559 megabytes and 64 bit size is about: 545 megabytes.

This is also a transitional release, which means that in most scenarious the 0.4 release should survive migration to Debian Testing or even to Debian Sid base. PostX 0.4 repository along with sources and few extra programs will be uploaded within a few days. 0.4 repository will replace the older 0.3 repository. Continue reading

PostX Gnu/Linux page updated & 0.4 beta wallpaper added

I just released new page for PostX Gnu/Linux distribution. I designed the page manually with Html5 and CSS. The new page will soon be full of new content since I am currently getting ready to build PostX 0.4 beta. I will announce the beta timetable in a few days when I know exactly how much time the building will take. On a more general note: PostX Gnu/Linux pages will serve as a starting point in redoing all the essential pages. Hence, in the future there will be lot of web layout updates coming.

In regard to the future: here is a wallpaper, which will come along with PostX Gnu/Linux 0.4 beta. The wallpaper can be obtained by clicking the image below or from GPL gallery page 4.
