PostX 0.4.3 is released as 32-bit and 64-bit

PostX 0.4.3 is released. If you need extra instructions then look at the older 0.4 series release notes, which still mostly apply.

PostX Gnu/Linux is built from free software. It uses Debian’s main repository together with my programs (Techtimejourney) repository as software sources. I have added contrib and non-free to sources list of the iso images just to make it more easier for the users to install what they might need.

New features / changes since 0.4.2:

– Software packages are upgraded and code has received some minor fixes. PostX 0.4.3 contains all the latest upgrades I have done to my software and it also contains the latest stable packages from Debian. Continue reading →

PostX Gnu/Linux development announcement: fixing the bug

During the PostX 0.4.2 a bug appeared. Originally, I wrote the text below from it:

“Important note. There seems to be a bug in Debian base(release building packages related). The bug appears when trying to start the installed system. The virtual terminal console number 2 gets stuck and only  a black screen is showing when the login should appear. To overcome this issue press some of the following key combinations to open an alternative terminal….”

The actual error message is something like this: “Type “ONE_LEVEL” has 1 levels, but <RALT> has 2 symbols“.

The cause of this bug is not the Debian base but the Kernel. There seems to be some sort of bug in the 4.9.18 version, which causes the issues to appear.  I have actually seen a variant of these issues before, which also manifested themselves via keyboard issues. I am now building  new kernels and as soon as I can confirm that the keyboard issues are out I will release a 0.4.3 version of PostX Gnu/Linux containing fixes and all the recent software upgrades.

Sequence FM v.3

2nd of June: Sequece FM v.4 & Gtk-Tools v.1 have arrived.

Sequence FM v.3 has arrived

Sequence FM has received an upgrade. The upgrade brings open archive, compress object, extract object functionality.  Sequence FM needs file-roller as a dependency to achieve the above functionality. Otherwise the dependencies have remained the same as they were in v.2.
